Good day ma'am. My name is Marissa D. Estrera. I was absent during our first session a while ago because we (Brgy Council, PTA Officers & Faculty and Staff on our school) had a meeting for our incoming PTAF meeting and for our SIP (School Improvement Plan)but I was told by my classmates this afternoon to create a new account here. REFLECTION ON NICS In the 21st century, the literate is increasingly expected to use computer technology to access and manipulate information. Knowing how to manage electronic information form an ever-widening array of resources. To be fully prepared to function productively in a technology, we must develop not only fundamental computer skills but also proficiency and right appropriateness in using technology like computer. Sometimes technology help our problems, make decisions and generate new knoledge. Now aday, there are many teachers and educators who are lack knowledge on how to manipulate technology particularly computer. Sometimes students or pupils are more knowledgable than teachers especially the old one. But we younger teachers are trying to emerge technology in teaching-learning activityies inside our classroom inorder to meet the ever changes of our generation. This creation of NICS is very helpful among teachers. By this we no our limitations and rights in manipulation of technology relation to educational setting.
Reflection regarding “Integrating Technology Into 21st Teaching and Learning.”
Technology plays an important and pervasive role in modern business and everyday living. It is associated with the efficient modern society and economic health. The advent of the computer has been hailed as comparable to the printing press; the more recent growth of communication technologies has introduced features such as 24 hour stock market trading; email is replacing the facts. The word globalization is ubiquitous. In addition, the rhetoric and policy focus that is driving educational change associated with IT will be analyzed. Using as a case study the activities in the UK educational scene for the last 20 years, I will suggest that understanding the problematic of using Information Technologies demands a consideration of some more fundamental educational issues.
It is not only perceived as a catalyst for change, but also change in teaching style, change in learning approaches, and change in access to information. Yet research indicates that teachers are both threatened by change, and conversely not impressed by change that appears to focus on what the technology can do rather than on learning. Indeed, with a continuing emphasis on using applications those were designed for business, and a policy focus on technology as workforce training, it is not surprising that educational computing has yet to find his own voice.
The introduction of computer technology has changed the organization of classroom management in the teaching-learning situation.Teachers and pupils interacts with machine in a new ways.Technology pushes the limit of education and education pushes the limits of technology.In the principles of constructivism as field of approach in the new curriculum the teacher becomes the provider of ideas,facilitator,coach,manager and mentor of different learning while the learners are the constructor,builder of knowledge.In the video presentation,interactive learning were observed.learning by doing of both teachers and pupils in the divergent method was seen.In a classroom management multimedia can bring the changes in lesson planning some resources can be provided the computer via internet.Media information can provides options on how to strengthen learning.The teacher and pupils can now creates,interact,interplay of various knowledge in the modern technology and skills in learning.
We all know that technology now a day are very important. all the world uses new version of technology that use every individual to minimize their works. Today not only those working in the offices know to operate new technologies but it is very important that teachers must be updated to a new technology (Computer) in order to perform their job more easily. This NICS focuses individual to lessen their work more knowledgeable and efficient work. Teachers must know different technology especially in computing grades so that it easy for us to compute and their is no biases that will happen, just a click and its already done. Education is very important, this is the key of individual to have a better future. But today many teenagers are not going to school because of financial problem the parents can't support their children's education. Government must focus on the education because Jose Rizal say "Youth is the hope of the nation". thank you.
Computer technology plays an important role in our society today especially when it comes to education.Education is very important also to the life of every people in society we need also to go and learn more about computer.As an educator we ,need also to be come more competent even we find hard to manipulate the said technology so that we should not left behind by changes as far as the education is concern.As we know that children as of today,they are very well verse in using this kind of technology.As a classroom teacher ,computer helps a lot ,specially in making test questions,reports and many others.It is the reason why I try my best to enroll in this IT subject even if my best is not enough but through the help of my very young ,beautiful and knowledgeable professor about this technology ,I know that its not too late for me to improve my skills in using this technology.
We know today that technology is the prior needs of human for the changes of our globalization technology in teaching and learning procees of education . We understand how information technology is the technology resources support for our learning development for new or modify,managing,designing,and existing for today in learning activities.We will use imformation technology and resources for our efficiency improvement and proffessional practice. We will use value and practice social responsibility ,ethical, and legal use of information technology in keeping record of learners development al growth of individual for use of information technology in the proper and right way.
REFLECTION, REACTIONS AND LEARNING'S " A good education is learning how to learn than learning how to earn". Now a days, teachers are undergo with some seminars and workshops about Information and communication Technology (ICT). This program of the government to the DepEd are luckily appreciated by the teachers because it is very useful and most of them are not aware on manipulating computer especially those who are old in the teaching career .The National ICT Competency Standard (NICS) for Teachers is actively accepted by the teachers and educators because the learning's and knowledge about computer provides high quality of education. In my own leanings the utilization of ICT gives effective performance in the teaching tasks.It develop our Knowledge about computer and other devices, skills and abilities of the teachers.Through this high technology we can research and collect textual and non-textual information from on line and offline sources. Aside from that, we can get information about the latest issues in the the other places.By God's grace, this technology help us to become a better person.
Reflections on “Integrating Technology Into 21st Teaching and Learning” and the 'National ICT Competency Standards for Teachers'.
I must say that the integration of technology into 21st teaching and learning is indeed an imperative. With the advancements in technology and complexities of modern living, there is truly a need for some pedagogical shifts. Categorically, these pedagogical shifts should include the integration of technology into teaching and learning.
It is interesting to note that our Department of Education is aware of this need and is making its efforts to upgrade our educational system by devising projects and programs that support the use of technology in schools. Personally, as a classroom teacher, I also see this need and I am trying to employ some means to use technology in constructing, representing and sharing knowledge in real life authentic contexts. I believe that using technology in teaching will make me become more effective and efficient in facilitating learning and will make my learners become more active, interested and engaged in learning as well. Though I’m still not proficient enough in effectively using technology in different learning situations and the resources being so limited, I still adopt some technology-integrated activities in some of my lessons. And this, I think, is a good start.
With regards to my competence in the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in teaching, this reading on “National Competency Standard (NICS) for Teacher, is so informative and enlightening. It’s good and challenging to know that there is this competency standard set by a particular commission of our government to help teachers like me become adept in the use of technology in the educational setting. This reading allowed me to reflect on and somehow evaluate my level of knowledge and competence in employing ICT in teaching. And I was surprised to realize that I still have a lot to learn about ICT and its application to the teaching and learning process. I realized that aside from the usual tasks which I perform using the technology, I still have a lot of things to know and skills to develop. This opened me an avenue for improvement. Moreover, this reading gave me an idea of the things which I need to learn and of the competencies which I still need to acquire, especially on pedagogical domain.
Insights in ICT The insights and learning have I gained in this topic the important thing that teacher must be literate in using information technology.they can help teachers role to be facilitators and student role to be active and collaborative learners.We know today that collaborative learning is group learning coupled with peer view and exchange of information which are keys to success in the modern world of world and professions.We need to used of essential skills and tools including technology for spefic outcomes of our goals for our learners.
